Craftsman Premier

THE CREDENTIAL PATH

Four levels. One clear difference.

Each step up adds requirements for the contractor and protection for the homeowner. Compare what's included at every level.

1

STANDARD ROOFING CONTRACTOR

Any licensed roofer can buy and install IKO shingles. There is no IKO training requirement, no vetting of past workmanship and no relationship with the manufacturer behind the product.

  • Can purchase IKO shingles
  • Material-only limited warranty

BASIC MANUFACTURER MATERIAL WARRANTY ONLY

2

IKO ROOFPRO® MEMBER

The entry level of IKO's contractor program. The company has joined ROOFPRO, completed IKO product training and agreed to install complete IKO roofing systems rather than mixing components.

  • IKO product and installation training
  • Installs complete IKO systems
  • Access to enhanced system warranty options

ACCESS TO ENHANCED SYSTEM WARRANTIES

3

IKO ROOFPRO® SELECT

A step up that requires a proven track record: years in business, verified insurance and licensing, a history of quality installations and ongoing IKO training. Fewer contractors qualify at this level.

  • Verified licensing, insurance and history
  • Ongoing advanced IKO training
  • Longer extended system warranty terms
  • Stronger workmanship coverage

EXTENDED SYSTEM WARRANTY COVERAGE

WHY IT MATTERS

What the credential protects.

A certification tier is more than a badge. It reflects the training, verification, warranty access and long-term accountability behind your roofing system.

Training, Not Just Tools

Higher tiers require documented IKO product and installation training. The crew on your roof knows how the system is engineered to work — nailing zones, ventilation, ice and water protection — not just how to get shingles up fast.

Vetted, Not Self-Declared

Anyone can call themselves a 'certified' roofer. IKO verifies licensing, insurance, years in business and installation history before a contractor can advance. The tier is proof someone else checked the work.

Warranty Strength

The biggest practical difference is coverage. The higher the tier, the longer and broader the warranty the contractor can register on your roof — including workmanship, not just materials.

Accountability After the Job

Certification puts the manufacturer in the loop. If something goes wrong years from now, there's a documented system warranty and a manufacturer relationship behind it.

HOMEOWNER GUIDE

Certification questions, answered.

What is the highest IKO certification a roofer can have?
Craftsman Premier is the top level of IKO's ROOFPRO® contractor program. No roofing company can hold a higher IKO certification. BOLD Brothers Roofing & Exteriors holds Craftsman Premier status.
Does a higher certification cost me more?
No. The tier affects the warranty your roof can be registered for and the standards the crew installs to — not a surcharge on your estimate. You get stronger coverage for the same roof.
Why does the full-system requirement matter?
Extended warranties are written against a complete system: underlayment, ice and water protector, starter strip, shingles, ridge cap and ventilation all from the same manufacturer. Mixing parts from different brands can void the coverage you paid for.
How can I confirm a contractor's certification?
Ask for the certification level in writing and ask which specific extended warranty they're registering on your roof. A certified contractor will name the warranty and register it with the manufacturer after the install.
